Hoot Owl Hoot A Board Game Great For Stay at Home and Game Night

While Stay at Home and Safer at Home orders are being relaxed across the country working from home is still my real life. School is out for the summer and there will probably be no summer camps. Taking a five year old into the office everyday is a terrible idea.

Since March I've been pretty passive about the amount of screen time my son gets because it keeps him occupied while I take over the radio world. I don't feel any guilt but I did want to offer him more balance to his day so I started buying board games.

Target sales a game called Hoot Owl Hoot. It was cute and kid friendly so I was down to try it. When I first read the directions I immediately dismissed the game.

The object is to work together to get all the owls home before the sun comes up. Everybody wins or everybody loses which is the part I hated. I am not a "participation-trophy" parent. This game kinda changed my mind. You can help the other owls sharing your cards and coming up with a strategy so everybody gets home. No man, or owl, is left behind.

Playing with two players is fun but the more players you get (up to 4) the more fun and challenging it is to get all the owls to the nest. My child had fun and as corny as it sounds, he learned team work. He still cheats thought.
