P.E.I.R. ( pronounced “peer”) or People Engaged in Recovery is having a free event Saturday, May 18th from 11:ooam to 3:oopm. “P.E.I.R. at the Pier” will be at South Park, the lawn next to the Fairhope Pier. There will be live music, meditation, speakers and information on the services we provide that are no-cost, non-clinical and confidential to assist those seeking recovery from substance use disorder and their families. P.E.I.R. ( pronounced “peer”) or People Engaged in Recovery, is a non-profit, peer-run recovery community organization with the singular purpose of helping individuals obtain and maintain recovery from substance use disorder. All P.E.I.R. services are no-cost, non-clinical and confidential, and provided by Certified Recovery Support Specialists through the Alabama Department of Mental Health. P.E.I.R. serves 18 counties in South Alabama with two recovery community centers, in Mobile and Dothan, that provide mentoring, a safe, supportive, substance-free environment, as well as, outreach services- including connection for assessments, options for, and transportation to area detox facilities, residential and outpatient rehabilitation and post-treatment services.
