Pop Tarts Are NOT Ravioli!!!

Of ALL the things we have to debate in the world, I mean aside from is a hot dog a sandwich, Pop Tarts VS Ravioli is by far the silliest argument yet!!!

In case you've missed it, there's a debate going on right now on Twitter as to whether Pop Tarts are RAVIOLI.  It SOUNDS nuts . . . but if you think about it, it's not THAT crazy, and I will admit when you actually LOOK at an uncooked Pop Tart...

...it DOES indeed look ALOT like a ravioli. As one guy said, quote, "they're both plain casing containing some delicious filling, with a yummy topping on top." But try to follow the logic of this...

As one other Twitter debater  said, quote, "they're both plain casing containing some delicious filling, with a yummy topping on top."  And he's not wrong...but then again he is.

A Pop Tart is:

Pop-Tarts is a brand of rectangular, pre-baked, convenience food toaster pastries that the American based Kellogg Company introduced in 1964. Pop-Tarts have a sugary filling sealed inside two layers of rectangular, thin pastry crust. Most varieties are also frosted and can be heated in a toaster.

A Ravioli is:

A type of dumpling composed of a filling sealed between two layers of thin pasta dough. The earliest known mention of ravioli appears in the personal letters of Francesco di Marco Datini, a merchant of Prato in the 14th century. It is usually served either in broth or with a heated pasta sauce, they originated as a traditional food in Italian cuisine, and the filling varies according to the area where they are prepared. In Rome and Latium the filling is made with ricotta cheese, spinachnutmeg and black pepper. In Sardinia, ravioli are filled with ricotta and grated lemon rind, in Italy beef, ricotta cheese, or sausage.

SUMMATION:

A Pop Tart is an American, processed pastry created in the 60's and filled with sugary fruits or jellies.

A Ravioli is an Italian based dumpling, created in the early 14th century, filled with meats and cheeses.

CONCLUSION:

A Pop Tart is therefore in origin and composition then NOT a ravioli!

The world can now resume spinning, flowers and children may continue to grow, and I REST MY CASE!!!!
