Escambia/Santa Rosa Residents: Report Your Storm Damage This Weekend

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners, the City of Pensacola Mayor and local state delegation members have sent a letter to the President of the United States requesting FEMA Individual Disaster Assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Sally.

The Florida Panhandle was hit with a Category 2 hurricane on Sept. 16, 2020 with over 105 mph sustained wind, gusts up to 123 mph, over 30 inches of rain and water inundation as high as 15 feet in the Perdido Key area.

A major disaster declaration has been declared in Northwest Florida for public assistance, including direct federal assistance, for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities.

Individual assistance is still under review. And local officials NEED YOUR HELP to make the case for individual assistance. They're collecting resident damage reports through the weekend and compiling a report to FEMA on Monday or Tuesday.

f you have sustained damage to your home or business in Escambia County, please send photos of the damage, along with your address or neighborhood and a brief description of the damage (200 words max) to hurricanesally@myescambia.com. Please put your address in the subject line.

For Santa Rosa residents, please complete the Citizen Damage Report form and provide photos/videos of damage - especially of water in the home or high water marks (lines on walls that show how high the water was inside the structure). If possible, use file names that include the address of the damaged property such as 1234SmithSt_photo1.jpg or 1234SmithSt_video1.mov.

For residents with large files that may not be accepted by the damage report form, email the photos/videos to GisTeam@santarosa.fl.gov and include contact information, address of the property or neighborhood and a brief description of the damage sustained.
