Black Twitter went crazy when is was announced Harriet Tubman would appear on the $20 bill in 2020. Unfortunately that's no longer a possibility.
It was to debut next year, to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Wednesday that it would be delayed until 2028.
During a hearing before the House Financial Services Committee, Mnuchin explained, "The primary reason we have looked at redesigning the currency is for counterfeiting issues. Based upon this, the $20 bill will now not come out until 2028. The $10 bill and the $50 bill will come out with new features beforehand." (CNBC)
Smells like something deeper but why take it from me....
