Fall in Love with Working Out

Every spring we set goals for a summer body. For some of us summer sneaks up on us like Bruh-Man-From-Da-Fif-Flo and the summer gets whatever body we got. I say thrive on sis because workouts should not be about vanity.

When I first started working out of course that's why I bust my ass in the gym and never missed a workout. Then I noticed my stress levels were better and my skin was glowing. I stopped bussin' my ass for the sake of how I looked on the outside and started making myself fine as hell on the inside. Lets be clear working out is only about 30% of the battle. The major part is your food intake. Slow and steady may be your best method if you find yourself constantly relapsing.

I started by getting a exercise routine. Equal parts weight lifting and cardio 5 days a week. Remember I said slow and steady so if you don't workout like EVER, start with 3 or one. Start with what yo can commit to and keep adding. I don't do 7 days because rest is just as important as work. Hell you need rest to work!

I don't go to the gym every day because I like to run and treadmills are my kryptonite so I hit the pavement at the FREE park. Yes, there are tons of free workout options so don't feel like you have to be in the gym in order to make a impact. YouTube has several cardio and weight lifting videos. They have Zumba as well. If you live in a top floor apartment like me then you need something with no jumps or stomps or basically anything that may annoy the neighbor beneath you. Here's my favorite

Disclaimer sis is annoying but I've got a good sweat doing this routine. if you fast forward you don't have to hear her whole life story. Other than that there are fitness accounts that I follow. Every workout doesn't fit the equipment I have so I usually scroll to find workouts that use body weight or simple dumbbells. I did this one recently and it was a good challenge.

Now that you have an idea get a plan! I know that's the hardest part but that's how you'll get successful. Plan and have back up plans. I run in the mornings but sometimes my schedule requires afternoon and I respect that and make it work. There are times its raining so I can't run outside, well I found a FREE inside track so I get it done. When it comes to food I'm still learning. There are foods I swore were healthy like yogurt but by the time you factor in the sugar you may as well have a scoop of ice cream.

I do not only eat vegetables and baked chicken. I will never give up hot wings or french fries. When I have them I don't refer to them as a cheat because I'm allowed to have them. I do eat more veggies and grill my meats than I eat what I call fun food. I have food I need to recover from workouts and food I'm eating just because I like it.
