I remember the first time I saw my Mothers birth certificate. It shouldn't have been much different from mine, she was born in 1959. It was different, next to the Race box was the word Negroid. I immediately wanted to see my Fathers, he was born in 1961 after the passing of the Civil Rights Bill. Surely his was different. No, not much, his simply had "N".

There have been so many recorded incidents through out history that show case police brutality when Black People are concerned. The very fact we need to say "Black Lives Matter" is a testament to how ostracized we are in this country.
