UPDATED: Hurricane Sally on The Gulf Coast

For the last two days the Gulf Coast braced itself for the impact of Hurricane Sally. This storm really kept to the 2020 theme of nothing is predictable. Where and when the storm would make landfall left even the best in the weather game baffled. Sally went between Category 1 and Category 2 intensity moving between 2 and 3mph.

By 4:45am Wednesday September 16 Sally made landfall in Gulf Shores Alabama. Originally models put the storm making landfall in New Orleans which would've mostly spared Pensacoal and put Mobile on the east side of the storm. East is always the worst side to be on. A few more shifts and unfortunately that put Pensacola to the east and all hell started to break loose.

Hurricane Sally will continue to bare down on the Gulf Coast until Wednesday evening. There are still storm coming off the coast of Africa, Teddy is the one to watch but it should stay in the Atlantic. Hurricane Season is the end of November and now that we are at the end of storm names list we'll be heading into the Greek alphabet. How 2020 right?

We keep you up to date with everything from road closures to resources at Operation Storm Watch

UPDATE: As more images from storm damage roll in I'll update this post. Here are some from Beinville Square in Downtown Mobile
