Best Bets for the Weekend, May 5- May 7

GULF COAST HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL- Thurs 5pm-9pm; Fri/Sat 11am-10pm, OWA Parks & Resort, Foley

Come enjoy performances by musical entertainment, children’s activities and more amid retail, arts & crafts and food booths. Musical headliners follow balloon flights, glows and tethered rides (weather permitting) Friday and Saturday nights. Lineup includes Red Clay Strays Saturday at 7pm!

*Morning flights are scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning and take place between 6:00-8:00 am, weather-permitting. Flights take place before the festival is open.  CLICK HERE

It's time for the Kentucky Derby on May 6th! The City of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department invites you to join us for a themed Sip 'N Paint event featuring music, relaxation, dancing, sipping, and painting! DOUBLE TUNNEL VISION 5K- Sat 8am, downtown Mobile

Certified 5K course starts near Canal Street between Scott and Bayou Streets and finishes at Oyster City Brewing Co. Participants will run down Government St, through the Bankhead Tunnel, circle around the tunnel entrance, and back through the tunnel to run up Government to finish at Oyster City. Proceeds will benefit the sight programs of the Lions Club of Mobile. CLICK HERE  

MOBILE SYMPHONY presents LORDS OF THE RING- Sat 7:30pm, Sun 2:30pm, Mobile Saenger Theatre

MSO contrasts Howard Shore’s brilliant score to Lord of the Rings with orchestral highlights from Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle. The City of Milton is proud to announce the 2023 Bands on the Blackwater Concert Series. The Spring Series offers a variety of music from local favorites to national touring bands. Bluegrass, country, blues and rock and roll will be performed on the stage in Downtown Milton.  CLICK HERE

DISNEY’S BEAUTY & THE BEAST- Thurs/Fri/Sat 7:30pm, The Bluff at Henry George Park, Fairhope

Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre (ESRT) will bring the full Broadway version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to Henry George Park in Fairhope for the tenth annual Theatre on the Bluff.
