6 years is a long time to wait for an on camera interview by Queen Bey and hopefully it was worth it!
Beyonce has made it a habit to surprise her fans, and she’s done it again by giving a brief on-camera interview — because it’s the first interview she’s given since 2013.
The rare interview took place backstage at the Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles, which she attended last week alongside husband Jay Z, daughter Blue Ivy and mother Tina Knowles.
While the interview will be the focus of an upcoming special on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network, a brief excerpt has been making the rounds on social media.
In the clip, she expresses her excitement over the upcoming premiere of “The Lion King”, explaining that it will be one of the few occasions when she and husband Jay-Z can hit the red carpet accompanied by their three children.
“This is one of the only red carpets I get to do with my family,” she says in the clip. “My daughter gets to dress up and my husband, this year it’s ‘Lion King’ which, obviously I play Nala. So it’s the first time I’m doing any appearance as a person that stars in ‘The Lion King’, which is something that I grew up watching and I’m so excited for my kids to see but it means even more to share this experience and culture of ‘The Lion King’ with my mother and my family.”
